Summer of Code is over.
1 Septiembre, 2006Finally I have reached my objectives on Google’s project. After three months of hard work, intense learning and lots of fun -because I love programming- I have managed to make a functional version of something that was onyl an idea months ago. Still there is a lot of things to do, I will be completing my project, cleaning bugs, and adding new features that I have in mind in next months. Yesterday we team final reunion, I did my evaluation of this three months, and it has been positive, besides all problems I had, not only the ones that are intrinsic to the project, but those unexpected like when all my computers broke. In other side I think Eclipse people is happy with my work, and I hope all be in my favour when looking at final report.
It’s been an unique experience, 100% enriching, this is why I want to continue colaboring and apporting to free software movement, think that you make a program that will be used for thousands of persons, in most important companies in the world, or in south america. Is my little way of contributing to this movement that I support much, and from what I have received that much.
I want to say thanks to Eclipse Foundation and Google for letting me participate in this project, and specially to François Granade and Philippe Ombredanne for helping me in difficult times, all #eclipse people for always answer my questions, also I want to thank al people in #eclipse-soc for the hours of chat, for the little helps, and the jokes, special thanks to Remy Chian Jian Suen for resolving me a huge amount of doubts. At the end I want to thank to Klaus Bartz from Izpack mailing list for helping me in debuggin installer xml this week.
If somebody wants to see the source code, here is the information, it is available on eclipse soc cvs.
CVS :pserver:anonymous@soc.eclipse.org:/cvsroot/org.eclipse.soc
My project folder is rcpip
Shortly I will write tutorial in order to install and run my plugin.
